I am a trained Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor providing both in-person and Telehealth sessions. On top of that I am also an Approved Supervisor and have supervised nearly 15 pre-licensed clinicians over the last four years. For 20 years, I've loved working with every angle of the family. If you looked at my schedule on any given day, you'd probably see a few married couples, some exhausted and burnt-out parents, a college student, a 4th-12th grader, a firefighter processing a critical incident, someone having an affair, someone who has been crushed by a loss or a person who is wrestling through their attraction to the same gender. I often find that a person's willingness to come in and simply talk about things creates at least 50% of the change they are looking for.
Whatever it is that brings you in, my two goals are to help you clearly understand why it is happening and what to do about it. I’m a trained EMDR therapist through the organization of EMDRIA. I offer therapy for most population groups and most issues.
Throughout the week, I currently serve on an after-hours Mobile Response Team dedicated to mitigating teen suicide and diverting Baker Acts by linking adolescents with dynamic wraparound services. Our team works closely with first responders and school administrators in Saint Johns County.
In 2017, I moved back to Saint Augustine with my wife and our three children. I started my own private practice (Elbow Tree) because I wanted to paint the walls my own color, bring my dog to the office and wear flip flops! Elbow Tree currently has 16 dedicated team members who deliver a wide range of counseling services to individuals, couples, and families in Saint Augustine and Jacksonville Beach.
