Why am I a good fit to work with first responders?
I have been both a medic and a dispatcher, but was raised by a Chief of Police, have a brother who has been an SBI agent for 45 yrs, and my son is now 8 yrs as a LEO. I have been in nursing in the ER and now serve as a mental health coordinator with Alabama Law Enforcement Alliance for Peer Support and as a certified Peer Support Clinician with the Alabama Fire College. I have 30 years of experience in critical incident and disaster response. I have been a Licensed Disaster Mental Health responder with the Red Cross from 2018-2024, covering AL/MS and the Caribbean regions, certified in Integrated Care Condolence Team (ICCT) response for mass casualties. FEMA trained in MCI.

What other first responder issues and goals do I work with?
Vicarious trauma, Anxiety, PTSD, marital issues, moral injury, depression, spiritual issues, substance use/dependence issues, addiction, stress management, holistic wellness, and medication management. The goal for my clients is that they feel safe, understood, and heard in session. Treatment is individualized and based on the client's needs. Family is welcome. I encourage my clients to be the driving force in their treatment, leaving feeling more restored than when they arrived.
